Ultra-Feminine

Stitch Fix Top; Thrifted Skirt (similar), Belt (similar), and Heels (similar)

I love my boho looks, but sometimes I just crave the ultra-feminine outfit. My lifestyle doesn't always allow it, but church is the perfect excuse.

My week has already left much to be desired, so we'll keep this short. I got my second Stitch Fix yesterday, and I can't wait to share it with you! I don't think it was quite as good as my first fix, but I definitely still got a few gems.

Happy Tuesday!

Flapper

Gap Dress; Thrifted H&M Cardigan; Vintage Necklace; Payless Heels

So who else has been loving the 1920s outfits on Downton Abbey? The colors, the shapes, the long pearls...I die, you guys.

I felt a little like a 20s flapper girl in this outfit. The straight cut of this dress, the long necklace and heels are all giving me that vibe. A refreshing change of pace from sweaters and boots.

The Start of An Age

Gap Dress; Thrifted Striped Top; Kohl's Scarf; Thrifted Boots

I keep staring at this blog post kind of unsure what to say. I'm sitting on my couch, listening to one neighbor's obnoxious music, and another neighbor's yelling. My patience for living in an apartment in the city is definitely waning. Thankfully, we'll be moving very, very soon.

Have you guys seen Once Upon A Time? I recently managed to get my husband addicted and he's been slowly catching up via Netflix. It's fun to have a show we both enjoy. :-)

Happy Tuesday.

Weekend Wear: Polka Dots and Pearls

It's all thrifted!

Happy Sunday! So glad I finally got a chance to wear this dress I thrifted and refashioned like...2 months ago. Here's what it looked like before:

The collar came off and I took the hem up a few inches. Easy peasy. I'm excited to wear this with boots and a cardigan through the fall and winter too.

Hope you've had a great weekend!

JCPenney Chambray, $12 (similar)
Thrifted Vintage Skirt, $3 (similar)
Thrifted ALDO Heels, $2 (similar)
Thrifted Belt

I used to be very anti-seasonal clothes.  I wanted my wardrobe to be as versatile as possible, and with the exception of sweaters and shorts, I wanted everything I owned to be wearable year round.  But last fall I decided to put away a few of my skirts and dresses for the winter that were more summery. I am now really glad that I did. Pulling this skirt and all the others out of storage a few weeks ago was like Christmas. I instantly felt refreshed by these "new" clothes and re-inspired to shop my own closet.

So go ahead and put away those winter sweaters, long sleeved dresses, and whatever else feels wintery to you in your wardrobe. I gladly did, and now I can't wait to rediscover those pieces come fall!

Assets Tights, $20 (exactly)
Thrifted Belt, $2

Apparently the warm weather of last week was just a teaser, because this week I'm back to wearing tights. :-(  It's been windy and wet here in Mid-Michigan, and I'm not a fan.

So lets talk about something I AM a fan of.  Pretty nails!

Easter candy!

New eyeshadow!

What are you a fan of this week?

P.S. I'm having a spring sale in my Etsy shop! 30% off everything with the code SPRING! Check it out!

Weekend Wear: Easter Sunday

lace dress, oxblood cardi

Lace Dress via Plato's Closet, $8 (similar)
Thrifted Lands End Cardigan, $3 (similar)
Thrifted Belt, $2
Thrifted ALDO Heels, $2 (similar)

This lovely dress has been sitting in my closet for probably 6 months, unworn, but today finally felt like the right time to take it out.  Hopefully it'll get more wear as summer approaches.  It's just too pretty and comfortable to sit in my closet.

Also: no tights!  It's a good day. :-)

Happy Easter!

    he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed.

Thrifted and Refashioned Old Navy Cords, $3 (similar)
Thrifted ALDO Heels, $2 (similar)
Vintage Bangle via Flea Market, $2
Headband via Burlington Coat Factory, $1
Total = $8

I usually try to wear skirts on the weekend since I wear pants all week.  However, this past weekend called for these super comfy cords with a white top and heels...things I'd never wear while nannying.  I then decided to take it a step further and add the floral bracelet and pearly headband.  Probably the most girly look I've sported in a while.

Also, this is basically the cheapest outfit ever.  Kinda proud right now.

Real Stores

blue striped button up, navy pleated skirt, plum tights

Thrifted Top, $3 (similar)
New York & Co. Necklace, $5 on clearance (similar)
Thrifted Skirt, $3 (almost exact)
Thrifted ALDO Heels, $2 (similar)

So I actually went shopping in a real store today (read: not a thrift store).  Even crazier, I bought a few things.  First time in a long time.  I get so used to getting great deals while thrifting, that paying more than $5 for most clothing becomes kind of a shock.  But, I managed to get some pretty good deals, and find a few things that have been on my "to buy" list for a while, so it was good.

Have you bought anything good lately?

Thrifted Aldo Heels, $2 (similar)

I'm starting to really look forward to the day when I don't have to decide what color I want my legs to be.  This was the third pair of tights I tried with this outfit, and it still doesn't look quite right.  Gah.  Just a few more months until spring...I hope...

Interview Ready

Super suspicious cows...

Thrifted Dress ($2); Vanity Blazer similar ($20); Payless Shoes similar (hand me down)

So I'm in the process of finding a job.  Last week I was pleasantly surprised to get a call from the local branch of a large retail store.  I did part one of their interview process the very next day and should have an interview later this week!  Even though I applied for a sales job, they're interviewing me for a managerial position.  Not sure why, as I have no retail experience whatsoever, but hey...I'll take it. :-)

What do you guys usually wear to an interview?  I've heard over and over that black pants is the way to go, but I felt to much better in this dress.  This was also for a store aimed at 20-somethings, so I wanted to look at least a little trendy.  I think I'll do something a bit less conservative for part two, the black felt a little drab.

P.S. Only 4 more days to enter the giveaway!

Because I Can

Thrifted Top; Target Dress ($12); American Eagle via Payless Mary Janes (free from my sister); Gift Shop Necklace ($10)

It's finally starting to get a little warm around here again! So nice to go without leggings. :)

I haven't been wearing many blog-worthy outfit lately, but I liked this one.  It's flowly and cozy while still feeling somewhat put together.

HAWMC - 7. Writer's Choice

I get to blog about whatever I want today, so I'm just gonna leave you with this outfit.  Because it's Saturday and I can. :)

Happy Easter!

Sears Floral Top ($4); Pamida Cardigan ($8); Thrifted Vintage Skirt ($6); American Eagle via Payless Mary Janes (free from my sister)

Today I'm linking up for both Open to Interpretation and Copy Cat Friday!  This was the inspiration for the challenge:
I decided to go for the pattern mixing and the silhouette, although I LOVE what the girl in the photo is wearing, I don't own anything much like it.

Pardon the face.  Outfit photos are not usually the first order of business during my day.

Be sure to click the button below and see everyone else's interpretation!
