I don't really know what to write here today. I am at the end of a good Saturday. I spent some time with my sister, watched a movie with my husband, and had a delicious dinner.
I went to the eye doctor for my annual dilated eye exam on Friday and got some news. Another one of those diagnoses that goes like ``well, this could be related to your diabetes, but it could be absolutely nothing so don't worry about it and come back in a year.`` Yeah, that`s just what I want to hear.
Sometimes I feel beaten by this disease. I feel like I am fighting a losing battle that will someday take my kidneys, my limbs, and my eyesight. I`ll be left a blind, footless young woman on dialysis.
But then I read things like this. And this. And I know it`ll be ok. I have what I need for today, and that`s what matters.
Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.

I wore an outfit very similar to this this morning! Except we had 60's! Very cute!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your eye exam! That's always anxiety-inducing. (I have a family history of glaucoma and an irregularity in one eye, so I get tests every 6 months for monitoring purposes).
ReplyDeleteCute stripes! I wish I could get a better look at your necklace. :)
It's too cold for me to do tights or leggings right now here. I need it to warm up a little so I can wear cozy and cute outfits like yours.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the eye exam. Last winter, my eye doctor found a bleed in my right eye when I went in for a contact fitting (not even an dilated exam!). I felt pretty defeated by diabetes and scared for my sight. When I returned for the follow up a few weeks later, the bleed had shrunk and it disappeared completely by my next dilated exam. It sucks that we can do everything "right" and still deal with these things.
