The Fair is a Veritable Schmorgesborg

Yesterday I had the pleasure of going to our local fair with my brothers.  Even though I'm not much for crowds and loud noises, I really enjoyed myself.  I never ride rides, but I love looking through the exhibits, checking out the baby animals, and the food. Oh the food...  I successfully made myself sick on a snow cone, elephant ear, and candied almonds.  I paid for it later in the form of high blood sugars, but it was oh so worth it. :-)

From top to bottom: the winning jams and jellies / alpine bob / the antiques best of show: a gorgeous wedding dress accompanied by the wearer's wedding photo and a recent photo of the couple / adorable baby lambs / the midway is lovely after dark

  1. Didn't make it to any fairs this year, but a few years back I went to the Kern County Fair (Bakersfield, CA) and fell in love with their collections exhibit. It was literally an exhibit where people in the county could display their collection. Pez, Starwars, Cats, Matchbox cars, anything and everything. It was fun seeing what people collect.
Sorry about your blood sugars. Are you using a pump or injections?

    1. That sounds so cool! I'd love to see that. :-)
I'm using a pump. Just underestimated the carbs in my food. I'm sure the abnormally high fat content of fair food didn't help either. :-)
