Today I wanted to share with you my favorite stain removal method. It's cheap, easy, and you probably already have everything you need in your home right now. I've used this method on a variety of different stains, but today we'll be getting rid of some nasty dirt/grease that got on my favorite pair of light blue shorts. I already tried just washing these, all to no avail.
Step 1:
Dawn dish soap usually works the best, but whatever you have around is fine! I've used everything from Dawn to dollar store soap...you may just have to use a little more depending on what you have.
You can also plug up your sink if you don't have a bucket!
Step 2:
Step 3:
Anywhere from 2 to 24 hours, depending on the severity of the stain. I let this particular one soak for about 18 hours.
Step 4: Either throw it in the washer or rinse it well to get your soap/peroxide mixture out.
And viola! No more stain. :-)
A few tips:
-For a really bad stain, try rubbing some soap and peroxide directly on the stain before soaking.
-Sometimes a bit of Sun Oxygen (or any form of Oxyclean) helps this mixture too. You can buy this off brand for around $1.50 at your local Walmart.
Have you tried this before? If you do soon, let me know how it goes! :-)
