Neutral Shorts + Tights

Top ($3): Thrifted (similar)
Shorts (clearance, $10): Elle via Kohl's (similar)
Scarf (clearance, $10): Gap (similar)
Tights ($?): Old, don't recall (similar)
Boots (clearance, $40): Connie via Famous Footwear (similar)
Earrings (clearance, $4.50): Mudd via Kohl's (similar)
Watch (clearance, $7): Target (similar)

Today's challenge was to do something you're scared of.  I've been wanting to try the tights with shorts trend for a while...but I've been scared.  So today, I gave it a go.


I'm still not sure if I liked this or not.  The pleated shorts are kind of throwing me off.  But, now I can say I've worn tights with shorts. :)

This feels like something my Japanese friend from college would have worn: put together, but still a little quirky!

Today is the last day of the challenge!  Thanks Kayla for another awesome challenge, I hope you'll do it again sometime!     I like how you made this a casual look. I often think that the shorts/tights thing is so stylized or dressed up that I would just look like a street-walker in them. I think with black shorts and the black boots it looks much more laid back, but still pulled together. I think I would be too scared to do pleats, though! I'm sorta still getting over the trauma of pleats from my younger years. =)

      I totally agree! I see other bloggers wear this and think that would look odd for every day wear. I am honestly still not sure about the pleats! They make the shorts really comfy, but yeah...lots of bad memories!

    I'm kind of scared of shorts with tights too! But I'm scared of tights in general so that's probably why. Those shorts are super cool!
