Ceiling Paper

For the last month J and I have been working on putting new ceilings in 3 rooms of our home. This has included installing drywall over the existing lathe and plaster (which has been falling down since we moved in), wallpapering, putting up new light fixtures, and trim. It's been a big job, but it's been going well.

Why wallpaper, you may ask? Well, since we're not expert drywallers, we needed something substantial to cover up our subpar mudding job. It was this or popcorn ceilings...

I chose a faux wood for the dining room. I was skeptical, but I gotta say, it looks quite a lot like real wood. There will be a ceiling fan where that poor, bare light bulb is, and some cute crown molding to come.

And in the kitchen, a faux bead board. This paper is kind of weird...it's not printed, but textured with foam. It was a bit trickier to install, but with some touching up at the seams, it'll look pretty snazzy.
