Why I Dress Up for Work

Hello new favorite cardigan. Welcome to the blog.

Here I am in another typical nanny outfit. Sometimes I feel like a bit of a weirdo looking put together for work - most nannies I know spend their work days in yoga pants and hoodies. While I can't argue with the comfort of yoga pants while chasing kiddos, I also strive to look professional and put together on the job. I've had more than one employer comment on my clothes, always saying how nice it is that I look clean and polished, yet still ready to get on their floor and play with their kids. I feel like this is important, no matter what field you're in. Even if you can get away with yoga pants everyday doesn't mean you should.

  1. I completely agree that it's important to be polished for work... no matter what you do! My office has a nearly nonexistent dress code meaning that jeans and a t-shirt every day are accepted. I try to dress professionally every day and leave the jeans for Fridays and usually still wear them with a nice top.

  2. That cardigan looks so cozy! You're right, it is essential to present a professional image -- and it's great that people notice. :) Folks who run around in yoga pants and hoodies probably haven't bothered to get creative and figure out more professional, yet equally practical, outfit alternatives.
