Best of 2013: Books, Life, and Stuff

2013 was quite the year. Two days after the new year I lost my job. We lost our shot at buying a house, and realized having children would probably be more difficult than we had hoped. Thankfully, the Lord opened many doors for us in the last 3 months and things are looking up for us. 2013 was nothing like I expected, but exactly what I needed.

Lets take a peek back, shall we?

Favorite books

Fiction: Stiltsville by Susanna Daniel and The House at Riverton by Kate Morton. One simple, one complex, both excellent.
Non-Fiction: Bomb by Steve Sheinkin and The Style Strategy by Nina Garcia

Why You Should Own a Slip. I'm crazy excited that this post gained some traction. It's definitely one of my favorites of the year too!

Favorite Purchase

This year I finally discovered that skinny pants are flattering. Still haven't looked back.

For 2014 I'm looking to continue to diversity this blog with more personal posts, recipes, DIYs, etc. I really enjoyed crafting some of those types of post this past year and was glad to see you all enjoyed them too. I'm also really excited for the possibility of adopting, buying the house we currently live in, and just settling into life more. I struggled with stress a lot in 2013 and have a plan in place to change that in the coming year. It includes journeling, prayer, and lots of good music. Also travel. Definitely travel.

How has 2013 treated you?
