June in Review

I think June was the slowest month yet this year. July is shaping up to be even slower. Life's rough when you're waiting for something. So let's dive in shall we?

Outfit posts were a little sparse this month, especially the last two weeks. What I did wear, I really liked, but the rest of the month was like "blah" as far as my outfits went. Hopefully July will be better.

Latest Buys

Thrifted striped top, Gap dress, thrifted shorts

Total: $39

I said at the beginning of the month I was trying to do a shopping fast.  Weeeell that lasted about two weeks. BUT, in my defense, most of what I bought this month was either replacements or supplements to my current wardrobe. I realized my current go-to striped top was just a leetle too small, and I decided to paint white polka dots on my other pair of denim shorts. I bought the bike shorts in an effort to feel more comfortable wearing dresses to work, and thus get more use out of what I already have. And of course, you already know the story of the Gap dress. So even though I broke the shopping fast, I don't feel like I added useless things to my closet, which was the whole point anyway.

Bookshelf

Just one book this month, but it's a good one! Our library just has this on audio book for now, so I listened to it every spare minute I had. It was SO GOOD. I have been a quiet person my whole life and this book was such an encouragement. Go read it. Right now.

Life

-The house! After what felt like forever, we finally found and had an offer accepted on a house this month!! We are set to close on it by the end of July, but we're really hoping for sooner.

-My friend Rachel's wedding. I really enjoyed being able to get back home to have a weekend with my family and catch up with my high school friends this month.

How was your June?

  2. Cute dress! It's surprisingly hard to find a nice simple dress like that one. :)
I just finished "Quiet" and really enjoyed it! I learned a lot about myself.
