Discovering that I can layer button-ups under my dresses has been a pretty amazing revelation. It really adds a whole new dimension to an outfit, and breathes new life into old pieces. Take this old grey dress for example. It's been worn over and over, but never like this. It almost looks brand new here.

So I realized that January came and went and I only added one item to my closet. These shoes. We've been penny pinching to the max, and extra shopping was one of the first things to go. But last week we had a bag of clothes to be donated, and I couldn't help but wander the store a bit. We were already there, might as well, right? I walked away with those for myself, and two adorable vintage hats that will be hitting the store soon. To be honest, I haven't really missed shopping that much. Sure, there are a few things I have my eye on for the day we have some extra money again. But for the most part, I was content to do without.
