Review: Level Life Glucose Gel

So I know this is bit of a departure from the norm, but bear with me because I am really excited to share this new product with you!

I was contacted by Ethan at Level Life Foods last month and asked if I'd like to give their new glucose gel a try (for my non-D readers, glucose gel is a product used by us with diabetes to raise our blood sugar when it gets too low).  Now, I have tried glucose gel before and have not been impressed.  Glucose tabs and gatorade are my go-to low treatments.  But I figured...what could it hurt to try another? So I said yes.

Just a week later, I nice little box showed up at my door filled with these goodies.  Pretty, colorful boxes filled with pretty, colorful tubes of glucose gel.

The first thing that struck me about this product was just how...cool it looked.  Managing a chronic condition is not cool, or pretty, or fun, so even if this stuff tasted terrible it definitely gets points for style.

But alas...not only does it look cool, it tastes great!  No weird aftertastes, no odd consistency   It just tasted good.  And they all tasted good!  My husband even said he thinks it tastes like frosting.  Doesn't get much better than that.

Level Life also keeps its promise of "getting you back to level fast."  It took an average of 7-10 minutes for these babies to do their work, compared to waiting an average of 15 for my usual tabs or juice.  And 5 minutes is a big deal when your blood sugar is low.

Another thing I love about this product is how easy it is to stick in my purse.  The packaging is flexible and the product is light, so I never have to worry about it getting crushed or taking up a ton of room.  I can definitely see bringing this with when I travel.

So check it out! Level Life Glucose Gel is available at CVS, Riteaid, and Walmart.  You can even get $2 off your purchase using this coupon!  Be sure to check out their website, Facebook page, and Twitter.

Disclosure: I was provided with free samples of the glucose gel and asked to blog about it, but as always, opinions are all my own!

  1. I do not need to take glucose but if I did I would buy these for the packaging alone! So glad you found a product that helps!
