Bookshelf: September

I really didn't do a lot of reading in September due to the business of moving and job searching, but here's a bit I did read...

  • Overdressed by Elizabeth Cline - This? Was excellent.  I've been rather fed up with the mall/Target/Kohls, etc lately, and this book really helped cement my thoughts.  Cline really digs deep into our culture of fast fashion, and made me want to work even harder at making my own clothes, and refashioning the ones I have.  An amazing book that I'd recommend to anyone.
  • The Pilot's Wife by Anita Shreve - a quick, mindless, and terribly sad story.  Glad I bought it for just a few bucks at a used bookstore.
  • The Freedom of Self Forgetfulness by Timothy Keller - I loved Tim Keller's The Meaning of Marriage, and was excited to find this one of his for just $0.99 for Kindle.  Although short, this was a great book and I'm sure I'll come back to over and over.
What have you been reading lately?

  1. I am a terrible reader. I start to read and promptly fall asleep but the funny thing is, I love to read! It just takes me FOREVER to get through any book.

I decided the other night to read a book my daughter read. It's a teen/young adult book that she thought I would love. It's called Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. So far I like it I just need to make more time to read.
