Thrifted Dress ($4); Payless Wedges ($10); Gifted Necklace
I'm never quite sure what to do with this dress besides thrown a cardigan over it. It's still too hot for cardigans, so I'm forced to find other ways to style it. I'm liking the leopard wedges though...
Have you run across this on Pinterest yet? I did yesterday and it was mind blowing. I've been wearing Old Navy jeans for the last year and can definitely attest to the fact that they stretch out. What looks great at the beginning of the day is pretty loose by the time I take outfit photos. I'm in no position to buy new jeans anywhere but the the thrift store right now, but I think I might actually do some trying on very soon to see if I can find some better fitting jeans. I don't think I've ever tried on jeans that cost more than $30 brand new so it seems like a worthy experiment.
What do you think? What are your go-to jean brands?
My go-to brand is Aeropostale for jeans. I've found the best length/fit combination for a petite frame (short/curvy) and they often run on sale.
ReplyDeleteHmm, I'll have to check them out! Thanks Rachel. :-)
DeleteI really think this is a cute dress! It looks great paired with the leopard print wedges. And that article is so interesting! I have been wearing Old Navy skinny jeans for years, and while they stretch out a little bit, I never realized it could look that bad. I'm tempted to go home and evaluate my tush in the mirror again.
ReplyDeleteBut I've had better luck with Old Navy jeans than I have Gap's brand. My Gap jeans ripped the first few months I had them. And Old Navy's jeans are half the price... Go figure. Thanks for sharing the article though, Faith!

I've noticed that too! Between my Gap and ON jeans, the ON ones definitely hold up better. Odd..
DeleteThis is a really cute dress. Have you tried it with a blazer or belting it? It might give some new life into that awesome dress. Love it paired with the leopard wedges.
ReplyDeleteMy go to jeans are American Eagle and Elle brand from Kohl's. I love trouser fit pants the best with a bit of a flare. Very slimming and elongating. Heather
I don't think I've ever done either of those things with this dress, thanks! :-)
DeleteI'll have to check both of those brands out, thank you!
My go to jeans are JCP A.N.A brand...they are so comfortable! You could try a more bold statement necklace with your dress in a bright color.
ReplyDeleteI have worn ANA in the past too, and they are definitely very comfy! :-)
DeleteMy favorite jeans (before an unfortunate tear in the rear incident) were from Gap (oh no!). I am a mom, so maybe I can get away with mom jeans? My problem is I need VERY long pants, so I love Big Star jeans- from the Buckle. What I don't love is the price tag. I have been wearing a pair of DKNY jeans I got years ago. They were originally not my favorites and made their way to the bottom of the jeans pile. I dug them out again recently and now I love them. The length is great for flats, and the wash is very flattering- no whiskering!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Honestly, I think if it works for you, do it, and forget what the internet has to say about it. ;-)
DeleteThank you for sharing this blog article, it was SUPER interesting. My favorite jeans are Seven for all man kind. These are by far the best jeans and although they can be expensive, they are worth it. I am also a fan of Rock and Republic, True Religion, People's Liberation Jeans, Paige Jeans, and Joe's Jeans.
ReplyDeleteThose are all the brand I'm wanting to check out! I'm having trouble finding stores around me that carry them though. Not sure I want to put out the cash to order them when I might not like them!
DeleteNot sure whats in your area but Nordstrom Rack is great for nice brands at cheaper prices. Maybe Ross, TJ Max or Marshalls. Every once in awhile you can find these brands at thrift stores too.
DeleteI love your leopard print shoes with that dress- super chic! The dress is beautifully slimming as well, you look so good!
ReplyDeleteI had that dress in orange and loved it until I wore it while pregnant. Now it's a skirt!
