Hey everyone! Hope you're all having a fantastic Monday so far.
I've been thinking a lot about discontentment. I've really been struck by how discontent I am with what I have. Rather than be thankful that I have clothes on my back, and nice ones that I love to boot, I am constantly searching for the next best thing to add to my closet. I'm also seeing that I haven't been very content with my circumstances as of late. Although it's tough living with my parents, I'm so thankful that we've had a place to live and everything we need through this season of unemployment.
All that has prompted yet another closet clean out. I again went through and got rid of all the things I was just "meh" about and the ones I've been trying to make work that just aren't. That's always so refreshing.
Kohl's Tee ($10); Thrifted Skirt ($3); Kohl's Necklace (clearance, $8); Gap Flats ($15); Thrifted Bangle ($2)
I'm also starting to see how few basics I have. Things like this tee shirt, some neutral skirts and shoes, etc. Shortly after taking these pictures I noticed that these flats have holes in them. Although that makes me sad it also makes me realize how much I've worn them since I got them a year ago. I didn't realize at the time that such a basic brown flat would get so much wear.
This outfit is really similar to this outfit, but I think the v-neck tee makes all the difference. . :-) I wore this to check out the Oldsmobile museum with Jeremy. Although not very big, if you like old cars you should definitely check it out if you're ever in Lansing.

This is so tricky. And a good purge always feels good to give yourself some clarity. Hold your head high, keep a smile on and keep remixing gems like this- you look amazing and put together!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Kate! I totally go back and forth between wanting a large, diverse wardrobe and wanting a nice, neat, tiny one. Someday I'll find the balance. :-)
DeleteReally adore the skirt. It looks great paired with a basic white tee. I struggle with basics as well, but I agree, sometimes a closet clean out is the best way to refresh a closet. Thanks so much for linking up this week!
