Today's prompt asked us to pick something that you do really well with diabetes. It took a bit of thinking, but I came up with a few things...
- Packing all of my supplies. Once, about a year after diagnosis, I went on a trip with my family and forgot my meter. Mass panic ensued. I have never forgotten my supplies since.
- Taking insulin. I am really, really good at this.
- Making lancets last forever.
- Hiding an insulin pump. Dresses, bathing suits...I have conquered them all.
- Wearing an insulin pump. In 10 years of pumping, I haven't once forgotten to reattach after showering, swimming, etc.
- Living life. Diabetes never, ever gets in the way!
This is my aspiration - Living life. Diabetes never, ever gets in the way!
ReplyDeleteI have a girlfriend who has maaaajor diabetes and was diagnosed at 4. She's said the same types of things- the pump hiding was her funniest debacle-type game, we'd have serious giggles about how it was turning her into a robot. A foxy, swimsuit robot.
ReplyDeleteI really admire your positivity and insistance on living life to the fullest! You're a doll and an inspiration (and look so good doing it!)
Aww, thanks so much Kate! This means a lot to me. :-)
