- Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual
- This was a lot of fun to read. I'm not a huge makeup person, but I learned a lot about choosing the right formula of makeup for your skin type from this book.
- The Little Black Book of Style
- This was a great book. I really enjoyed reading an expert's perspective on style, and definitely learned a lot.
- The One Hundred
- This was a great read too! I always read about "finding the gaps in your wardrobe". Problem is, I never know what the gaps are! This book is a nice list of essentials that you can sort through and get an idea of what your own essentials are. I went out and bought a few things after finishing this and I've already gotten a lot of use out of them.
- Crazy Love
- I'm still not sure what I thought about this. It wasn't bad, but I wish it would have gone a little deeper with it's theology than it did.
- Still Alice
- I heard about this from Janssen's review of it, and it did not disappoint. It's such a unique book in that it's written from the perspective of someone with Alzheimer's. I really enjoyed reading it.
- A Lineage of Grace
- This is a 5 book series that I finally finished in April. I love reading stories based on the bible, and this one about 5 women in the lineage of Jesus was so well done. It's great to get a glimpse at the what these women were possibly thinking and feeling during real events!
- The No Brainer Wardrobe - This is a really short, fun ebook about paring down your wardrobe. A quick, but worthwhile read if you're ready to clean out your closet.
- Harry Potter - Now that the fad has died down, I found myself curious about these books (I hadn't read any or watch a single movie before now). I gotta say...I was a little bored. Harry goes to Hogwarts, Harry finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, Harry gets blamed and everyone hates him, Harry saves the day. They were well written, but I have no desire to keep reading the rest of the series (I made it through the first 2).
What's up next:
- Steve Jobs
- My husband bought this, and I've been slowly reading this for a while (it's long!). I'm enjoying it though! Hopefully I'll have it finished this month.
- Every Body Matters
- We received Gary Thomas' Sacred Marriage as a wedding gift and enjoyed it. I've never read a book about a Christian's perspective on why exercise is good for you, so I'm excited to read this!
- The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment
- This was on my reading list a few months ago too, and I still haven't made any more progress in it. Maybe this month...
- The Pursuit of God
- This one too. Must buckle down and read!
What have you been reading lately?

Like you, I waited until after the massive Harry Potter craze was over. When the books originally came out, Harry and his friends were about my age so I remembered the way my friends talked about the books as I read them. The actual read level increases with each book though.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read your thoughts on Every Body Matters. It sounds cool, I might see if I can get it as an ebook.
That's good to know about HP! Maybe I'll dive into the 3rd book after all.. :-)
DeleteI actually got Every Body Matters for my kindle, so it is definitely available in ebook form!
