New Year, New Project

About a month ago, I found this project on Pinterest, and I knew I had to make one.  I used to journal all the time, but as time goes on, writing in one gets harder and harder.  So the idea of a perpetual journal was very appealing.

I gathered my supplies from Walmart, Michael's, and Staples.

Of course, you don't need the stamps and ink. I just found that idea on one of the tutorials I read and thought it was cool. :)  Most of the tutorials use a recipe box instead of a wooden one like this, but I couldn't find a recipe box.  So, this cute little wooden one from Michael's did the trick.

One pink card for my birthday. :)  I decided not to separate the months.  Instead, I'll be putting the day in the back of the box after it's been filled out.  I like the continuity of that a bit better.

I love these little boxes, but I'm so bad at decorating them.  It usually looks like a 5 year old did it.  I wish the bit with the stamp had turned out better, but I do like the glitter glue.  I still might change it up later on with some paint. :)

Do you keep a journal?  How do you do it?

  1. I don't keep a journal, but I'm in love with this concept! I keep little 'list books' in my life - where I list out my chores, my goals, my finances, etc. I have the stashed all over the house. :)

  2. @Maggie B. List books...that's great! I write notes all the time, but they usually get thrown away!

  4. What a great idea. I am a terrible journaler. I usually only do it consistently for about two weeks. I am trying again. We shall see.

  5. @Wendy, R.N. Me too, I have a hard time keeping up with a regular journal! This requires so little time though, I think I can do it. :)
