Ingredients
3 1/2 cups diced potatoes
1/3 cup diced celery
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
3/4 cup diced, cooked ham (I used bacon in mine cause I didn't have ham)
3 1/4 cups water
3 tbs chicken bouillon granules
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
5 tbs butter
5 tbs all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
Directions
- Combine the potatoes, celery, onion, ham, and water in stockpot. Bring to a boil, then cook until the potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes. Stir in the bouillon, salt, and pepper.
- In another saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat. Whisk in flour with a fork, stirring constantly until thick, about 1 minute. Slowly stir in milk as not to allow lumps to form until all of the milk has been added. Continue to stir over medium-low heat until thick, about 4-5 minutes. (Mine never really thickened up that much until I added it to the soup.)
- Stir the milk mixture into stockpot and cook until heated through. Enjoy!
