Love For The Blue Heels

Just before Christmas, I came across the Blue Heel Society on twitter.  I immediately headed to their website to find out what this Society was all about, and was excited to see that a new diabetes advocacy organization had been formed!  I can't say it any better, so here's a quote from their website:

"This organization is dedicated to all  people living with, caring for, or interested in diabetes. The Blue Heel Society was formed on November 13th, the eve of World Diabetes Day, 2011 by a dedicated trio of spirited advocates who committed themselves to promoting awareness, pursuing the continued fight for a cure, highlighting obstacles people diagnosed with diabetes are faced with, and promoting advocacy for the diabetes community as a whole." source

Their Facebook page states: "The Blue Heel symbolizes the pain & discomfort that can't be seen from the outside, for those living with diabetes. Just like a fab heel..."

An organization dedicated to raising awareness through the wearing of blue shoes?! I'm all over that!

I searched around for the right pair of blue heels for myself for a few weeks before finding these over on centsofstyle.com:
They're on the way. I'll blog about them when they arrive. :)
You can show your support too! Check out their website, Facebook page, follow them on twitter, or buy your own pair of blue shoes and blog about why you're wearing them! :)

Please note that Blue Heel Society did not ask me to blog about their organization, nor am I receiving any compensation for doing so.  I just think they're really awesome and wanted to share!
