It was SO cold outside today. I was trying to do some portrait practice outside with my husband, and my outfit photos were the last thing we did. At less than 40 degrees, we were ready to get it over with and go back inside!
I don't know if you can see, but I painted my fingernails grey yesterday. I'm still trying to decide if I like it. I like the look of black fingernails, but that's not quite "me", so I'm giving this a try.
So I had a someone book a portrait session with me today. This will be the first session I've done that I'm charging for and that's not my family. I'm super excited about it; it's with a fun couple that I've gotten to know over the last few months.
This is where I rant a bit: Let me tell you people...photographers are NOT trying to overcharge you! People seem to think that they can take advantage of a brand new photographer and get them to charge nothing for their services. At the end of the day, this isn't fair to you, and it's not fair to them. This is a VERY expensive business to get into and maintain. I have put thousands of dollars into equipment and education. It will be years before that pays off. What I currently charge for my services and prints leaves me barely making minimum wage for the time I put in. You pay your hairdresser, your chef, a musician. Pay your photographer.
Rant over. Hope you're having a great Thursday. :)
Love the boots, the animal print...all of it. This is a great outfit, Faith!
