Simplicity: A Weekend in Review

...or: How to Style Jeans, Basic Tops, and Flats.

Seriously, that was my inspiration for this weekend.  I packed two pairs of skinny jeans, three solid basic tops, two cardigans, and two pairs of flats.  I brought along a few scarves, and necklace, and two pairs of earrings to accessorize.  And...I loved it.  It was simple, but cute, and I felt super comfy.

Friday
Top and Cardigan: Thrifted
Jeans: JC Penney
Sandals: Shopko
Scarf: Burlington Coat Factory
Watch: Gift  (worn all weekend)
Bracelet: CCaria on Etsy (worn all weekend)
Earrings: Etsy

This is what I wore on our trip out.  I ditched the cardigan later on when we headed to a park, as it was rather warm, but I wore it most of the day.  I realized later that I've done this same top/cardigan/scarf pairing with a denim skirt.  Oh well..it works. :)

Saturday
Tank and Belt: Thrifted
Cardigan: Old Navy
Flats: Kohl's
Necklace: Gift

Saturday was classes till 1, then we visited a local winery and an outlet mall!  I snagged two deeply discounted sweaters and a pair of jeggings at Dress Barn, and we stocked up on all my favorites from Yankee Candle.  I am SO excited for fall weather!  I've been finding so many awesome sweaters that I can't wait to wear! :)

Sunday
Tanks and Scarf: Thrifted
Jeans: Old Navy
Shoes: Kohl's (same as Saturday)
Necklace: Gift
Earrings: Self-made

Sunday we headed back home after a morning of classes.  I love this scarf, and this was my first time wearing it.  Tulips are my favorite flower, so I was quick to snap this up when I saw it at the thrift store a few months ago.  I thought it would be way too much blue with this top, but I really liked them together.

After a weekend of wear, I must say, I LOVE these shoes!  So comfortable and versatile.  Really, I loved all my looks this weekend.  If the summer would have been cooler, I would have been rocking simple looks like this a lot sooner.  Ah well...cooler weather is on the way. :)

Also, I felt like I had an awesome hair weekend.  I conditioned it overnight with coconut oil on Thursday night, shampooed it Friday morning, and it was so soft, curly, but not frizzy!  The frizz came back a bit on Sunday after another wash, but still not too bad.  In any case, the coconut oil is definitely going to make it's way into my hair care routine.

Hope you all had a great weekend! :)
