I Dreamed A Dream...

I feel like I hardly ever have dreams. At least not ones that I wake up remembering. However, every once in a while I have one of those nights that's full of lucid dreams that I just can't get out of my head after I wake up. Why, you may ask? I've found one common denominator: high blood sugar.

Take 3 nights ago for example. I dreamt that my husband had gotten me a new wedding band. After wearing it for a while, I noticed that my engagement ring was really wearing on this new band. In fact, the diamond had left an imprint! I called my husband, very upset over the now ruined new band, and he calmly told me that we could just get a new one. I took off the band, and our dream selves went on with what we were doing. There were lots of other things going on around me, probably including monsters and tipping floors. The details are fuzzy, but believe me, it was an odd dream.

I woke up, and tested. 251 mg/dl.

Like I said, this happens often. In fact, I pretty much only dream when my sugar is high, like this morning when I woke up at 230 mg/dl after dreaming I was in Europe.

How about you? Any correlation between high blood sugars and dreams?
